This presentation is inspired by the art works of 5 artists represented in the permanent collection of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The selection of artists and their art works represent a diverse range of approaches to art making including the use of materials, choice of subject matter and intention behind the art work.

These learning objects are designed for Grade 9 students and their educators. The Foundation for the Atlantic Canada Arts Education Curriculum document, Nova Scotia Department of Education, has been utilized to ensure that the learning objects are in accordance with the learning outcomes for
the Grade 9 level.
