Saint-Jean-Baptiste field The city of Saint-Jean-Baptiste

Between Rougemont and Mont Saint-Hilaire lies the municipality of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, where several concession roads date back to the seigneurial regime and still bear their original names. Strolling through the fields and orchards is a great way to discover the rural countryside. In the heart of the village, just a stone’s throw from a poultry processing plant, stands a church renowned for its painted interiors. Farther on, the municipality boasts Canada’s biggest private campground, Domaine Rouville.

Saint-Jean-Baptiste has experienced a commercial boom and the industrialization of its agriculture. These events have transformed the village’s traditional face. The adventure is far from over, however, and various groups and issue tables are already working on developing the Saint-Jean-Baptiste of tomorrow.
