Robert Penney, Sr. kept the light from 1897 to 1944 and his son, Robert Penney, Jr. kept it from 1944 until after 1966.

The Murray Harbour Back Range Light is located on the opposite side of Beach Point Wharf, on a lane posted as private. The light can be easily viewed from the wharf.
