This square tapered range light overlooks the Borden Harbour and the Northumberland Strait. The shingled tower is very plain in appearance. It is a small light with no decorative details, no tower windows and no gallery. It was designed by “L.M.” of the Department of Marine and Fishery.

Both range lights were moved in 1923 and again in 1954-55. Both were decommissioned in June, 1997, with the completion of the Confederation Bridge.

The Port Borden Range Lights played a role in the development of inter-provincial shipping. They also played a small role in the development of commercial fishing and the ferry terminal in the Borden/Carleton area.
