This range light was originally an open frame tower which was later enclosed. It is a square tapered tower clad in shingles. It is typical of the era, with little ornamentation, except the pedimented door. It was designed by the Department of Marine. Its builder is unknown. It is painted white with red trim.

Charles L. Wright and his son Charles Evan Wright were long time keepers (c. 1894-1935 and 1936-1959) although they did not own or occupy the light tower.

The tower is located in on a private lawn near Beach Light Road, overlooking Paul’s Bluff and the Northumberland Strait just west of Victoria Harbour.
