The first light was on a ten foot mast on top of a small box shed about 1.8 m (6 feet) high. It was replaced with the current tower in 1903. The short wooden tower is unusual in appearance. It is not surmounted by a lantern, but has the light showing from a window facing seaward. The tower is painted white with a red vertical stripe on the seaward side.
The tower is situated in an open field near Paul’s Bluff, just
west of Victoria, overlooking the Northumberland Strait. The tower
was moved in 1986 due to shoreline erosion.
