Coaster

This piece was made using the same techniques as the placemat. This cotton coaster is an excellent example of drawnthread work, though not as fine as the placemat. This is probably a copy of a piece brought from the Canary Islands. The tide lines were caused by dyes that dissolved in the water and ran from other textiles in the same box.
