Doily
by Jeremy Z.
The doily was made by Mrs. Margaret Wilson. She married her husband in 1873 and they lived on a fruit farm near St. Catherine's, Ontario. The doily was passed down in her family. Her grandaughter, Miss Margaret Pugh, gave it to the museum. It is a pretty doily used as a decoration in the home. The centre is a kind of linen called damask. This white doily is made of fine cotton knitted in small stitches.
