Making the Impossible Possible

Before Charles Drake, certain aneurysms were deemed hopeless. In 1958, he had a patient with an aneurysm which was believed to be inoperable. But Dr. Drake saw a way. Confident in his abilities, he operated
and was successful. For years after, he documented aneurysm surgery, perfected his technique and taught it to other surgeons. Patients from every corner of the world sought his care, medical organizations everywhere sought his leadership and expertise, and Canada bestowed upon him our highest honour -- Companion of the Order of Canada.
