Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Medal
Herbert J. Russell's
Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Medal During the 1939 Royal Visit to Newfoundland, Herbert J. Russell was invested by His Majesty King George VI, as a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. This was at a special ceremony at Government House where he received the medal. The honour was given to Russell for his outstanding work as the General Manager of the Newfoundland Railway and the Coastal Boat Services. Railway Coastal Museum. 2004.0035.
