This is the S.S. Baccalieu. Now the Baccalieu and the Burgeo were sister ships. They were built and delivered in 1940. And they were some of the best known coastal ships in the World War II era and afterwards. And now this model is very special because this is actually the builder's model from the shipyards of Fleming and Ferguson in Scotland. And this is the model that was built by the ships' engineers - the ships architects as a guide and a building model. And it's very rare to see these kinds of models around. Most ship models that you see are built long after the fact as souvenirs or as hobbies but this one was actually what they were working from.
