British war corvetter Tenedos in drydock, 1884.
The Drydock openend December 10, 1884. The British war corvette Tenedos was the first ship docked there. The dock at 600 feet long and 132 feet wide, had a draught of 25 feet and was capable of admitting and servicing the largest steamer afloat at the time.
