We arrived at
Auschwitz at night. The lights were glaring and the guards shouted at everyone to get off the train. I remember being told to stand in a row of five or six with my Dad and two of my brothers. Behind us was my Mother, with my youngest brother and my grandmother. I remember a very tall officer with a stick pointing left and right. A "selection" was done: healthy and young on one side, old and sick to the other. I was left with my two older brothers. My mother, father, grandmother and baby brother were taken away. My sister was put in another group.
