Manido Chiman is constructed of very old logs. Once you enter the museum you will walk through history and to where we are as a community now.
About the Collections We collect all items that may have been used by the native peoples in the past. Approximate number of objects in the collections: 1600 Archives We have great stories by the elders in the community. We also have many pictures. Architectural Records Prints and Drawings Photographs Sound Recordings Other : Clay pots and wooden crafts. Decorative Arts We have many pieces of art done by our community members. Ceramics, Porcelain or Pottery Costumes Musical Instruments Fine Arts Native jewlery. Culture: Canadian : Aboriginal or First Nations Period: Modern Historical Media: Prints and Drawings Film and Video Natural Sciences We have many plants and herbs that are used for traditional medicines. Plants and Animals (Biological Collections) Services & Activities Tours and native drum and dance demo Research Services We try to answer all questions asked. If we can't there are books and files. Hours & Admission Operation: Year Round We give a tour of the museum all year and in the summer we give drum and dance demos. Open: 8:30 to 4:30 Will open on weekends if someone has requested a tour. During the summer it is operational on the weekends and closed two days during the week. Closed: Saturdays Sundays All statuatory holidays Admission: Charged A donation will give you three native songs and three traditional dances.
