The Caroline Wheels of Time Museum opened its doors in 1992 in a small Trapper's Cabin, we have now expanded to include a two room school, a log house bulit in 1915, Trappers Cabin and a small building used as a resident for the teachers of one room schools. Our collection includes artifacts from the first store and post office and numerous displays and artifacts from the early 1900's. We have a very good collection of photos and stories of the early pioneers.
About the Collections Collection includes many artifacts from first store and post office, local artifacts pertaining to the agriculture and forestry industries. A small library of books from the one room school era. Housekeeping items and furniture comprise some of our numerous exhibits. Approximate number of objects in the collections: 8000 Archives The museum is privileged to have obtained may old store records, school records and records pertaining to the first hall and the records of the movies and entertainment of the day. Documents on how the first school district was formed, the naming of the first post office. We have many documents and photographs pertaining to the early settlement of the area. Research Services A limited service for research on pioneers of the area Archival Records Video Library Conservation or Restoration Other : none Educational Programs Provide an educational program for the local schools in the area from ages 5 to 11. Includes a history of the area , first school,first store and post office,demonstrations on how families lived in those times and a tour of the building and histories and stories on these. School Programs : Age 5-11 (k-6) Seniors Programs Demonstrations Visitor Services Guided tours, with history of the first settlers, refreshments, crafts and souvenirs. Videos and limited research. Films and Videos Guided Tours : English Accessible by Public Transportation Audio Guides : English Information Centre or Desk Parking Facilities : Free : Bus Gift shop Special Needs Facilities : Parking : Washrooms : Wheelchair access Washrooms Volunteer Services Volunteer Services Available Volunteer Training Offered Number of volunteers: 45 Activities: The volunteers keep the museum open on weekends and provide all the services paid staff would. They help with the planning and are our front line people at all the fund raising events. When we open in the spring, cleaning is done by the volunteers; building repairs and restoration is almost totally done by volunteers. Until last year the day-to-day running of the museum was done by volunteers with supervision of members.fund raising is all done by volunteers. Member Privileges Members have their names on the wall of memory and receive recognition for their years of membership. Museum Guide Postcards Videos Brochures Commemorative Souvenirs Hours & Admission Operation: Seasonal Opening May 22 with oldtime music,pie and coffee,and a candyman parade for the children. We also provide a chuckwagon stew meal and entertainment. July - we celebrate the seniors and pioneers families of our area September - Horseback Poker Rally; October - Volunteer Supper; November - we end our activities with an old fashion Bazaar.
