Air Defense Museum
La Baie , Quebec
Tourism Region: Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean

Canadian military aviation history has been marked by exceptional heroes and their extraordinary exploits. The Masters of the Sky exhibition relates the glory and misfortunes of these airmen through history.

A first in Quebec, the multimedia exhibition State of Alert presents aircraft that criss-crossed the skies over the course of time. Using augmented reality technology, visitors are plunged into an unusual sensory environment that is truly unforgettable.

Furthermore, one hundred years ago, a new weapon arrived on the military scene, changing war radically: the airplane. The exhibition Scourge of War relates the history of aviation during the First World War, a dark period of humanity in which soldiers and civilians alike faced a new threat, one that came from the sky.

Finally, don't miss out on the popular guided tour of the Bagotville base. See fighter jets close up and watch actual take-offs on the only military base in Canada that is open to the public during operating hours.

Discover the Air Defence Museum and uncover the secrets of Canada's aviation history – you will see just how critical Bagotville has been and continues to be to our country's air force.
