The MacLachlan Woodworking Museum's mission is to cultivate and foster the appreciation and understanding of the role of wood and woodworking technology in the development of Canada.
About the Collections Large collection of Canadian made woodworking tools and artifacts made by their use. Approximate number of objects in the collections: 8000 Decorative Arts Furniture or Furnishings Human History Agriculture Animal Husbandry Furniture or Furnishings Household Objects or Domestic Technology Industrial Technology and History Sports Equipment Other : Large public collection of Canadian-made woodworking planes Services & Activities Research Services The MacLachlan Woodworking Museum conducts and encourages research, collection, preservation and interpretation of woodworking tools and artifacts made by their use. Educational Programs The Museum has 15 hands-on adult and educational modules. Many reflect the Ontario Curriculum Document requirements for grades 1-6, and new programs are underway for greades 7&8. School Programs : Age 0-4 (Pre-School) : Age 5-11 (k-6) : Age 12-17 (7-13)(Quebec: Secondary 1-CEGEP) : Age 18 and up (Post-Secondary) Family Programs Classes or Workshops Demonstrations Lectures Other : New adult interest workshops range from traditional fence building to fall photography. Visitor Services Located at scenic, 50 acre, Grass Creek Park with picnic and sandy beach.
