The route of the railway from Cobourg to Peterborough over the Rice Lake bridge is modeled with an operating train, 1/20 scale. The layout was prepared by George Parker in 2013 and the station made by Gordon Berry.
The cedar shakes on the roof of the model of Cobourg station were first accidentally attached with water-soluble glue. A major maintenance job was soon necessary!
The layout can be seen in operation at Cobourg’s Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre during open hours, Victoria Day to Thanksgiving.
The original Cobourg station was moved, probably over the frozen lake, to Stuart Street in Cobourg where it now serves as a residential duplex.
The Ashburnham station has not survived.
