Getting to the Gaspé has often meant travelling in groups. For many tourists, their first visit to a new part of the world is in a group. The barriers that keep visitors away – like language, distance and haggling for prices – are just one of the many reasons that many travellers prefer to travel together, particularly in the first trip to a foreign country or a new destination.
As soon as there were roads into the region, groups followed. The Gaspé tour remains one of the most popular destinations for first-time travellers to Québec. In the past, group tours were mostly for Canadians and Americans; today luxurious coaches usher visitors from France, China and many other countries.
