Introduction

The proposed tour will introduce you to Quebec artist Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté (1869-1937). A versatile, multitalented artist, he explored a wide variety of techniques and subjects.  Landscapes, however, remained his favourite subject, particularly scenes bathed in light.

The Suzor-Côté tour helps you understand the artist’s approach, his search for balance in his compositions and his quest for authentic emotion.  You will see how a work of art is constructed and the techniques and media used to create the final work.
