Lieutenant-Governor Thomas Carleton is said to have held his first Council around this table on November 22nd, 1784.
Table with circular top which revolves, on square pedestal base; woods- mahogany and oak. The top is inset with black leather; a narrow moulded edge projects above a deep apron containing twelve triangular drawers with brass outline keyholes and mushroom turned knobs; the drum shaped top overhangs a square pedestal base which contains vertical compartments. The door has brass-outline keyhole and slightly projecting moulded base.
