Touching Hearts Hooked Mat

Touching hearts are flanked by stylized floral motifs, symbols frequently used in fraktur documents memorializing weddings, births or family anniversaries in Pennsylvania-German culture. This mat, symbolic of welcome and domestic harmony, probably memorialized a Mennonite couple's wedding.
