When two different species mate, they produce hybrid offspring, combining the dominant features of both parents.

A male black-and-white warbler and a female yellow-rumped warbler produced a male “2000 hybrid warbler.”

It looks like a black-and-white warbler, but has yellow feathers on its rump. This combination of both parents’ main features clearly shows how the hybridization occurred.
