Jean-Paul Lemieux was born in Québec city the 18th of November, 1904.

Education
1926 Apprentice at the age of 21 in the studio of artist Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Côté
1926 Enters the École des beaux-arts de Montréal
1929 Studies commercial art in Paris. Also studies at the Grande Chaumière and attends "open studios" at the Académie Colarossi
1934 Diploma in painting from the École des beaux arts de Montréal

1937-1965 Professor of painting and drawing at the École des beaux-arts de Québec

1934 Receives the Brymner Award with "Maison aux Éboulements"
1954 Grant from the Royal Canadian Society
1968 The Order of Canada
1967-70 Honorary Doctorate from the Laval University and Bishop University, Lennoxville
