Crooked Creek #2231
Crooked Creek School was built in 1911 and located on SE-29-35-4-W5 in the Southwest corner of the quarter. The builders were Earl Benson and R.J. McKain. Mr. & Mrs. E. Brown painted the school white with green trim. The sign was painted by Miss G. Proud, a teacher at the time.
The first teacher was Mr. McDonald. The school was closed briefly for lack of students and reopened again in 1921.
In 1940 renovations to the school took place, a cement foundation and a new floor was installed and ten-test put on the walls and a new chimney was built.
Mrs. Dagny Dyrholm was the teacher when the school was closed in 1956 and the children were bussed to Crammond.
The fifth country school built in the Caroline Alberta District.
