The Dream of a Team

Nikkei teams

After 1900, Nikkei baseball teams formed across British Columbia. There were teams in Vancouver in the Powell Street Nihonmachi, and in the Kitsilano and Fairview suburbs. There were also teams in Victoria, Ocean Falls, Cumberland and Steveston, in the Fraser Valley and the Okanagan. Teams formed wherever there were communities of Japanese immigrants.
