Disbanding

Communities destroyed

By October 1942, Nikkei communities on the west coast of Canada were destroyed. Those who lived outside Vancouver were first sent to Hastings Park, where the Asahis once trained. There, they were housed in livestock buildings before being transported to hastily erected camps and ghost towns in the British Columbia interior.
