Baseball in the Camps

Asahi spirit

Just as the Asahis were a bridge across communities, in the camps the players’ games of baseball once again brought people together. In Lillooet, former Asahi infielder Kaye Kaminishi and ball players in the camp made a team to play with town residents, breaking down the barrier between the town people there and the exiled Nikkei.
