I decided to excel in whatever I was doing. I went to Point Grey High School and I won every award that was around in sports and music. I decided my accent didn't make a difference in sports and music. I even got the lead part in a school play. I did thirteen grades in seven and a half years. I found all the Jewish refugees
were excluded by the other children. It was a very bad time for me there. Canadians were not as accepting of newcomers then, as they are today.
When I left high school I went to a business school. I took secretarial courses and trained to become a dental nurse. After I got married I worked with my husband who was a furrier, who later went into the building business.
