Regina Clay: Worlds in the Making
Home > Artists Roundtable

An artists roundtable at the MacKenzie Art Gallery provided an opportunity for the artists of Regina Clay to retell the stories and key events connected with the emergence and development of sculptural ceramics in Regina from 1964 to 1980. Filled with humour and insight, the artists' observations provide a window onto a sometimes turbulent, but always creative, episode in Canadian art history. The roundtable was held as part of the events marking the launch of the exhibition Regina Clay: Worlds in the Making at the MacKenzie on Saturday, November 19, 2005. Eleven of the fourteen artists participated, including: Lorne Beug, Victor Cicansky, Joe Fafard, Ricardo Gómez, Beth Hone, Ann James, Margaret Keelan, Maija Peeples-Bright, Jack Sures, David Thauberger and Russell Yuristy. Moderator for the roundtable was exhibition curator, Timothy Long.
