A Day

6:30 a.m. Laudes

A monk’s day is balanced harmoniously between three activities: prayer, study and manual labour. Early morning is a time of personal reflection and study. The second gathering of the day is Laudes, also known as the Office of Praise. It is a joyful greeting of the dawn. It is a shorter office when God’s blessing on the day is asked.

7:30 am Eucharist

The Eucharist is the source and summit of the whole Christian life and of the brothers’ communion in Christ. For this reason it is celebrated by the whole community every day. It is by sharing in the paschal mystery of the Lord that the brothers are united more closely with one another and with the whole Church.

-Mysterium Fidei
