Keeping the home warm

During the cold winter months there was a coal burning stove that could keep the entire house warm. Sometimes too warm but this was preferrable to being too cold. if the house was big enough there would be a smaller unit that could be placed closer to where the heat was desired. These stoves were quite popular and to attract the attention of buyers, the designers went to great lengths to make these stoves artistic creations as well. The stove was the center of activity in the home since it provided heat, cooked the meals and made bathing a tolerable experience. The center point of life in the home helped make a Good Life in the Badlands.
