On parade nights all officers, civilian instructors, and guests were encouraged to "sign in" and "sign out" while adding the appropiate time. Members of the Sponsoring Committee were frequent guests on parade night.40
The groundwork had been completed over the summer of 1954. Six boys had attended camp with another squadron. Carbonear 589 Squadron had a home in the United Church College. Officers and squadron leaders had been appointed, and a sponsoring comittee was in place. All that was needed were boys with enthusiasm and a good work ethic. Surely success could not be far behind. |
