"Tremendous Damage to Digby by Worse Storm in Years"

Digby Courier, Friday, March 6th, 1931. "Wharves, Breastwork, and buildings demolished, great damage to embankments." For three hours Digby was battered by high seas and gale force winds. Those buildings over the water were assaulted by the onslaught of wreckage from broken wharves. The ferry Princess Helene made her trip from Saint John, New Brunswick but was unable to dock as logs and other debris was being driven into the wharf. Erosion along the banks was immense.
