Haileybury's importance was also displayed by it's hockey team. Both Haileybury and Cobalt had teams in the National Hockey Association (N.H.A.) until they folded in 1911 due to lack of funds. Art Ross played for Haileybury in 1910 and is seen in this photograph.

To service the growing community the Nipissing Central Railway supplied electric streetcar service between the towns of Cobalt, Haileybury and New Liskeard beginning service in 1910 until being replaced by buses in 1935.

The District of Timiskaming Courthouse.

Haileybury was declared the district town July 8, 1912. Construction of the courthouse began soon after. The Courthouse was officially opened in 1914.
