Barrington Farm
1910
Lamerton, Alberta

24

This farm near Lamerton was owned by Norman W. Harrington, and was mostly used for grain production. He also ran another farm at Big Valley, which was a cattle and horse ranch.

Norman drove a team and buggy between the two places to keep both farms running, and kept
a foreman and several hired men to help him with the work.

In this photo, his crew is getting ready to go to the field on the Lamerton farm.

Norman was a real entrepeneur of the times, dabbling not only in farming and ranching, but also tried poultry farming, hog production and even market gardening. None of his ventures ever became as successful as he had hoped they would.
