Luther Sharpe's farm.

Luther Sharpe and his brother, Theodore, moved from Busby, Kansas in 1903 to take homesteads.

He built a farm, and worked around the country, part of the time breaking horses.

Luther and his brother were very impressed by the land here. They wrote so enthusiastically about it to their families back home, that many of them moved here as well. In 1904, their sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Shipley arrived, followed by Ursula Sharp in 1907, their sister Bird and her husband, Howard Hurt, in 1909, a younger brother, Preston, in 1910, and their sister Gladys and their father and step-mother, with Hobert, George and Ferne in 1911.
