Stacking Hay Bundles on the Sayer Farm

Hard work, stacking bundles on the Sayers farm. Henry Sayers is standing on the stack, with a hired man forking him bundles from the rack.

One story told about Henry was that before he was married, he had a milk cow that he turned loose on the range. Whenever he heard her bell, he would run out and milk her. Henry said that he didn't worry about milking her regularly because she had a much better place to keep the milk than he did.

We suspect that his cow must have also known to come close enough to the house for Henry to hear her bell whenever she needed to be milked.
