Transportation

The thread of Yale's transportation history runs deep. After witnessing the usage of canoes, portage trails, paddlewheelers, the building of the Cariboo Waggon Road, the telegraph line, the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Canadian National Railway, the Fraser Canyon Highway, and the Trans-Canada Highway, Yale now sits as a historic highway stopover. With the completion of Hwy # 5, the Coquihalla, Yale's importance, and the that of the Fraser Canyon, decreased significantly. But, the impact of these advances, and the history associated with their construction, is interweaved into the fabric of British Columbia's history.
