Outside the original museum was an old steam engine - the kind taken to work at the temporary sawmills in the forests. It was a familiar feature of Main Street.
Unfortunately there was no room inside the Centre for the old steam engine, and having it displayed outside was 'not in the plan', so despite trying hard to keep it, the engine ended up close by in the grounds of the Train Station Inn, where it can be easily viewed and well looked after.
