she burned in 1916, several
of her posts were made into a
wedding arch for the W.L.
Roberts family of Saint John.
   With the advent of trains
and cars, which were much
faster and worked year-round,
the grand tradition of Saint
John riverboats would come to
an end by the 1940s; the last

of the large boats went out
of service in 1946. Since
then, the river has been used
mainly by recreational craft.
   Displaying images of
every kind of vessel that has
made its way along the Saint
John, this digital exhibition
will explore how people
traveled on the river over

the centuries.
