farm homes. This Community
Memories Exhibit is the
history of this building, a
building that holds the
stories of some of the
families who have left their
mark in Saanich, stories of

lives lived by Tsartslip
First Nation families and
first white settlers, stories
left for us to enjoy. The
community’s residents, who
will one day be ancestors
themselves, are now adding
their own stories to the
collection.
   The museum houses over

600 family and community
histories, photos and farm
artifacts donated over the
last 73 years. We owe a dept
of gratitude to the many
volunteers who have carefully
kept safe the documents and
artifacts, organizing and now
digitizing the collection.
   Today, the Saanich

Pioneer Museum is set in a
five-acre park where children
come to laugh and play. It
stands as a refuge for
cherished family memories. It
is a bridge to the past, an
educational tool to the
community, a warm fireplace
to welcome any visitor and a
reminder of the community’s
