Women's Transition into the Workforce

As the war progressed and it became apparent that the men would not to be returning home for sometime, women began to move into less traditional roles and enter the work force. This was the first time, for many industries, that women had been employed on the line. By 1942 all women between the ages of 20 and 24 were required to register for war work, specifically known as 'the Victory Shift'.
