TRANSCRIPT

Pedlar People Limited.

Pedlar People Limited was founded in 1861 by Henry Pedlar. The employees manufactured metallic building materials such as shingles, roofing, ceiling lath, corner beads and many other materials. When the war started, the demand for metal increased. Three shifts a day was created to meet this high demand as well as operating seven days a week. The production shifted to items such as radio receiver cases, fuel tanks, heat exchangers, cartridge cases, radar cabinets, army huts and much more. During the war, Pedlar People was considered the leader in the manufacturing of sheet metal. Once the war came to an end, employees returned to manufacturing sheet metal, and developed the rainbow rib roofing and the low rib metal lath.
