Robson Leather Co.

Robson Leather Co. was founded in 1865 by James Robson and William Lauchland. In 1895 the company was renamed "James Robson and Sons". The Robson building, which can be viewed above, was built in 1904 and became the largest manufacturer of upper leather for shoes in the British Empire. During the Second World War, Robson produced 60% of all upper shoe leather supplied to the Allied soldiers.
