TRANSCRIPT

Duplate

Duplate was established in 1922 by W.E. Phillips. It was during this time the automobile was created and Duplate responded by producing safety glass to be used as windshields in many new vehicles. During the War years Duplate supplied glass for things such as windshields in army trucks and Mosquitoe Bombers. Duplate also produced the glass that would be placed in face masks. As the war came to an end, Duplate moved manufacturing back to the automotive industry in order to meet the demand for new cars and trucks.
