Thunder Bay Military Museum History Series: HMCS GRIFFON

TRANSCRIPT

In late 1939 approval to relocate and establish larger quarters was granted. The new facilities were located at 232 Cook Street in Port Arthur. Prior to its purchase by the Navy, the site was an automobile garage. Currently, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 5 occupies what was once the drill deck. Although the Cook Street location provided superior training space for the Division, it lacked in sleeping quarters.
