TRANSCRIPT

October 10, 1947 marked the 250th anniversary of the arrival of the Ursulines in Trois-Rivières. The sisters were still cloistered at this time. But on this 250th anniversary, a special event drew them out of the monastery - a Thanksgiving Mass celebrated at the cathedral of Trois-Rivières. The nuns walked two by two along the sidewalk. Mother Joséphine du Saint-Cœur de Marie, the Mother Superior, accompanied by Lucette Paquin, then president of the Children of Mary, were in the first row. They walked along the rue des Ursulines, then went up rue Bonaventure to the cathedral. It was quite an event. People came out just to watch the procession pass by.
