TRANSCRIPT

Many years ago, I taught a course called 'Teaching Religions' to secondary school seniors. In addition to Roman Catholicism, the course dealt with a variety of other religious faiths such as Islam, Judaism and the Anglican religion. There's an Anglican church just opposite the Ursulines. A minister was there at the time, and I asked him to explain his religion to my class. This course marked a turning point in the development of religious teaching and encouraged an openness to faiths other than Catholicism. I think senior students now are ready to explore diversity.
