Cleaning off the ice at the rink

Yeah, we had to clean the ice [scraping and skating]...and that was the best power skating you could ever get. If you figure you got to plow, and plow on ice and you're pushing it all the way up the rink and all the way back. And usually there were only five or six of us doing the rinks, and we had to get them done every day....Yeah, that was probably the best exercising for hockey I could have ever got was cleaning the rinks, because you use those muscles...you had to skate and push all the time. You couldn't glide.
